Summary: Three hard climbs at high altitude will make stage 19 a key battleground for the GC riders. The first two ascents are grinders, and then itβs a 7.1% average gradient to the Isola 2000 ski station at the finish. The gaps will be substantial on this stage.
Fantasy favorites: The elevation will separate the contenders from the pretenders, and it will hardly come as a surprise that Tadej PogaΔar is the favorite to take the victory, with Jonas Vingegaard as the next likeliest winner. Beyond that, everyone else feels like an outsider. Richard Carapaz, Simon Yates, Felix Gall, Egan Bernal, and Enric Mas could have a shot from the break. Remco Evenepoel has looked very good in this Tour so far, but doing well here would represent a major step forward for the Belgian talent.
