Stage type: Mountains

What to expect: The battle for pink may already be decided but two trips up and over Monte Grappa will certainly provide the opportunity for fireworks further down the GC standings and in the battle for the stage. Itโ€™s one of the harder first-category climbs youโ€™ll find in a Grand Tour this year, with gradients to 14% in spots โ€“ certainly steep enough to force a selection. Descending skills will be key here as well: From the top of the second ascent, itโ€™s just over 30 mostly downhill kilometers to the finish.

Fantasy favorites: Tadej Pogaฤar is, of course, a deserving favorite, but this could also go to an attacker either in the early break or out of the GC group. Nairo Quintana, Romain Bardet, Damiano Caruso, and Einer Rubio have the climbing chops to contend if the early move can stick, while Daniel Martรญnez could try his luck and hope that the race leader will let him go in the finale.
