Campagnolo is discontinuing its iconic Record groupset

There are few names in cycling as beloved as the Italian groupset manufacturer Campagnolo – a brand that has played a key part in cycling history and the bicycle’s technological development. And within the Campagnolo lineage, there’s one name that looms largest: Record, a groupset synonymous with top-end racing performance.

Escape Collective has learned, however, that Campagnolo will be pulling the plug on the Record range after 62 years. The Super Record groupset – a name reintroduced by Campagnolo in 2008, and positioned above Record – remains as the company's halo product; from there it drops down to Chorus.  Perhaps the writing was already on the wall, seeing as Record last saw meaningful updates in 2018.

When approached by Escape with a request for comment on rumours that Record was soon to be no more, Campagnolo’s official word – in its entirety – is as follows:
