The UCI released a statement Tuesday reminding the sport that Johan Bruyneel has been and remains banned from engaging in any formal way with professional cycling.
Cycling's governing body felt the need to release the statement following a visit by the Belgian former director sportif to the Tour de France on July 17, and specifically a trip into the accredited Depart Village zone of that day's stage start. Bruyneel was working with Vive le vélo, a programme from Belgian broadcaster VRT1.
