Puck Pieterse and Christopher Blevins powered to dominant victories on a grassy new short track.

After a brief pause following Leogang, the World Cup returned with a bang in Val di Sole, where the fast and furious XCC racing unfolded on a fresh course that swapped technical features for slippery off-camber grass turns. While it lacked the notorious brutality of Val di Sole’s usual offerings, the short track delivered intense tactical battles across all categories.

U23: Bradbury and Treudeler take control

The day kicked off with the U23 categories, where Nicole Bradbury and Finn Treudeler navigated the deceptively tricky terrain with composure and speed to claim early victories. Both riders displayed excellent positioning and late-race surges that left their rivals trailing.

Elite Women: Pieterse makes it two for two

Puck Pieterse is on a tear. After her Leogang win, she made it back-to-back XCC World Cup victories with a dominant ride in Val di Sole. From the start, Pieterse set a relentless tempo at the front, whittling down the field lap after lap. On the final lap, she launched a searing attack that only Jenny Rissveds could follow. In a shoulder-to-shoulder sprint, Pieterse edged out the Swede at the line. Laura Stigger finished third after riding consistently in the chasing group.

Elite Men: Blevins unbeaten in 2025

Christopher Blevins continues his perfect streak in the short track, claiming his fifth XCC World Cup win of the season. In a tightly bunched race, Blevins waited until the final lap to launch his decisive move. His attack was immediate and effective, creating daylight between him and the chasers. Teammate Victor Koretzky and short track ace Luca Schwarzbauer tried to respond, but Blevins’ timing and power proved untouchable.
