Stage type: Time trial

What to expect: Get excited, time trial fans. A race against the clock awaits on stage 7. Most of the route from Foligno to Perugia is pan flat but things kick up in the finish, which could present some interesting pacing issues for those who donโ€™t save up a little bit of energy for the final ascent. At 40.6 km, this stage should have a big impact on the GC battle at the 2024 Giro.

Fantasy favorites: If you’re starting to get tired of hearing that the same rider is the favorite for yet another stage, we’ve got news for you: It’s going to be a long Giro. Tadej Pogaฤar, ever excellent against the clock, is again the bookies’ favorite for stage 7, especially with the uphill run to the finish. That said, Filippo Ganna should run him close and fantasy players might use their Ganna pick here if they have already relied on Pogaฤar or are saving him. Geraint Thomas should also shine on this course, while Mikkel Bjerg, Daniel Martรญnez, and Magnus Sheffield are outsiders.
