Newly-crowned USA national road champion Kate Courtney and top French WorldTour team FDJ United-Suez have joined forces, the two parties announced on Monday. Courtney joins the team on a two-plus-year contract that begins immediately and extends through the 2028 season.
Her first race with the team will be La Périgord Ladies, a French UCI one-day on the 18th of July. She will then race Picto-Charentaise the following day before she makes her WorldTour debut at the Lloyds Tour of Britain on August 19th.
“It is hard to put into words what this opportunity means to me," Courtney said in the team press release announcing the deal. "I never expected to be able to make the jump to the World Tour level so quickly, and I am so motivated to rise to this huge challenge and really find out what I am capable of as an athlete and person in this final chapter of my career. I am so grateful to [FDJ manager] Stephen [Delcourt] and the entire team for seeing the potential and giving me this chance to chase a huge dream."
