Lipowitz seals Tour of Slovenia GC with back-to-back stage wins

Florian Lipowitz's second stage win of the Tour of Slovenia was perhaps even more impressive than the first. Stage 4's mountains had been the proving ground for the Tour de France-bound German, but on stage 5, Lipowitz took a more aggressive approach to the finale, attacking on the last small climb 9.3 km from the line and soloing to the finish.

The 25-year-old has doubled the number of professional wins on his palmarès in the past two days, adding back-to-back stage wins and the GC to his 2024 Sibiu Tour win, and a stage and overall at the 2023 Czech Tour.

It's a textbook prelude to the biggest Grand Tour of them all, where Lipowitz will line up as co-leader for Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe with Remco Evenepoel, who has opted for a training-only approach to the Tour de France.
