McNulty brake-checked by apparently angry motorist on his way to stage 16 ITT
Brandon McNulty was making his way to the Tour's stage 16 start in Évian-les-Bains, for which he had been considered an outside favourite, when an apparently angry motorist caused the American to collide with the back of the car.
"Brandon rode his time trial bike to the start. A motorist apparently got angry, drove past him and then went full brakes the moment Brandon was riding behind him. He therefore slammed on the car," team boss Mauro Gianetti told Eurosport.
"It seems the damage is not too bad for Brandon, but of course this is not fun. Fortunately, he did not suffer serious injuries and was given the green light to continue on his way.”
