Netcompany-Ineos explains Rodríguez absence from Tour
In an interview with AS, Netcompany-Ineos sports director Imanol Erviti offered some insight into his team's decision not to take former top 10 finisher Carlos Rodríguez to the 2026 Tour de France.
"Carlos’s lead-up to the Tour wasn’t quite as smooth as we would have liked," Erviti said. "He came down with a mild flu during the Dauphiné [the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes], and the team decided to make him the focal point for La Vuelta, especially given the uncertainty surrounding [Oscar] Onley’s availability. Priorities shifted regarding the Tour, but we continue to value and appreciate Carlos. We are confident he will be in great shape for La Vuelta." [AS]
