After days and weeks of questions surrounding the vanishing of Premier Tech, and growing doubts as to the future of the Alpecin team, the Roodhooft brothers have announced that the Canadian company has jumped aboard the Belgian WorldTour outfit(s), which will become Alpecin-Premier Tech and Fenix-Premier Tech from 1st January 2026.
The news was rumoured weeks ago when Premier Tech stepped away from the team formerly known as Israel-Premier Tech in early November. Very quickly after that, it was announced that the agricultural machinery and equipment manufacturer would begin sponsoring French outfit St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93 (though not as a title sponsor), whose women's ProTeam had just made the surprise signing of former Paris-Roubaix winner and reigning Canadian national champion Alison Jackson.
Thoughts of seeing Premier Tech return to the WorldTour were quietened by this revelation, but with Deceuninck committing to withdrawal from the team of Classics specialists, an opportunity opened up.
