Route summary: The last stage before the first rest day has been reduced by 30 km, with the peloton now set to go directly from Malemort to Lanteuil, bypassing some of the roads that would have formed the opening kilometers of the race (and cutting out the early lumps in the above profile). In any case, the stage will bring the stage-hunters with climbing chops to the fore. None of the individual climbs is all that hard but 3,300 m of elevation gain is enough to wear away at the field.
