Tour de France organizer ASO unveiled details of the Grand Départ of the 2027 race on Thursday, revealing that the men's event will start in Scotland and head south to visit England and then Wales over three days of racing in Great Britain.
The women's race, meanwhile, will spend all three days of its British sojourn in England.
Rolling out from Edinburgh on July 2, the men's peloton will head to Carlisle in England on stage 1, which is likely to favor the sprinters. The following day, riders will head from Keswick to Liverpool for a somewhat punchier second stage, with five categorized climbs on tap.
