Two weeks after several of SRAM’s systems went offline, the company has confirmed it is investigating “a cybersecurity issue.”
In a statement provided to Escape Collective by a spokesperson, SRAM confirmed that after discovery of the issue, “we immediately shut down affected areas and closed access to most of our IT systems as a precaution.”
Whispers of the issue began to surface on Reddit around 15 days ago, with reports of outages to systems including:
- the B2B (business to business) portal – which allows dealer ordering
- Trailhead app – which allows users of RockShox suspension to log and maintain suspension settings
- SRAM Support Teams – which are a conduit between consumers and the company
- Product Registration
- SRAM Service Hub Serial Lookup.
SRAM’s AXS system was reportedly unaffected.
Until now, however, the company failed to proactively provide a public update on any of its platforms, responding to consumer emails only with acknowledgement of “an IT issue that has impacted operational capabilities in certain departments.”
