The Secret Pro: Wake me up after 6 am

The Secret Pro: Wake me up after 6 am

I know you want me to talk about the late-night doping tests, so let's have at it.

I don’t love getting woken up at two in the fucking morning, do you? No? Didn’t think so.

Listen, I know what you want me to talk about. I know because I keep getting asked by journalists and friends and even my parents, who told me I better not be doping. I told them I’m not. Of course I'm talking about the really late tests for Jonas and Tadej, at 2 am and 5 am. And I heard some other guys got tested late too, but that might just be a rumour.

Overnight testing was approved by French judge over ‘serious and consistent suspicions’
Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard are reportedly not the only riders to have undergone overnight testing during the 2026 Tour de France.

It's a topic amongst the peloton for sure, but probably not as much as you might think, because what’s happened in the last few days isn’t actually that unusual. We mostly talked about how ridiculous the response has been. I think maybe the most useful thing here is just to talk about what it’s like to be the ones getting tested.

Did we do a good job with this story?
