'We come as a package' – Halland Johannessen twins extend with Uno-X

Uno-X Mobility has announced that Norwegian twins Tobias and Anders Halland Johannessen have re-upped with the team, signing contract extensions that will keep both 26-year-olds with the Scandinavian WorldTeam until at least the end of 2028.

"I think it is very positive. We are a group that has been here for a long time, and hopefully we are now entering the peak years of our careers," Tobias said in the team's statement, with a nod to his tenure with the Uno-X organisation that goes back to the development squad in 2019, Anders joining a year later. "It is still quite new in cycling that you can spend those years on a Norwegian team in development ... This team morale is not something you can buy anywhere. It is built over time, and I think we are right at the top of cycling when it comes to that."

The Halland Johannessen twins, who live in neighbouring apartments, have not been completely joined at the hip as racers, sometimes spreading their wings to seize individual opportunities. Last year, for instance, Anders took his first pro victory with the overall title at the 2025 Tour of Slovenia, while Tobias raced to his best GC finish to date with fifth at the Dauphiné, before then backing it up with sixth at the Tour, Anders riding in support.

"We come as a package. I could never imagine this without Anders, but maybe he would manage better without me," said Tobias, who so far this season alone has finished ninth, fourth, third and fifth in all the WorldTour stage races he's raced with his brother. Anders picked up the thread, "Yes, I actually want to get away. No, joking — I could never ride for another team than Tobias."

The team itself, now in its first season at WorldTour level, sees the Halland Johannessen twins as a hugely important cog in the Uno-X Mobility machine, not least for their longevity in the Norwegian-Danish organisation.

"Tobias and Anders are a huge part of our identity," said team boss Thor Hushovd. "Not only do they deliver great results, but the way they do it is just as inspiring. They bring energy to the group, lift the spirit around them and stay positive even when the pressure is high. To do that, and still achieve a result like 6th overall in the Tour de France, is spectacular."

Both twins are currently preparing for a return to the Tour de France, a fourth for Tobias and second for Anders, where the former's GC ambitions will be central to the team's approach.
