Kasper Asgreen, November 2025: “Ronan, I have a question for you… Who is the CyclingSpy?”
It’s not much of an exaggeration to say I’ve had that question more often than I’ve had hot dinners over the past year or so, since the person behind the pseudonymous Instagram profile covering leaked new cycling tech and aerodynamics became a regular guest on the Performance Process podcast and a contributor to Escape Collective.
I’ve never revealed his identity until now, preferring instead to bat the question away with the same “even if I told you their name, you wouldn’t recognise it” answer, but the time has come to pull back the curtain. Not because I’m about to out them, but because the 'Spy has this week started a new role at one of the top WorldTour teams and feels the time is now to lift the cloak and reveal their identity.
