Anthony Turgis linked to Netcompany-Ineos for 2027
Anthony Turgis is the latest current TotalEnergies rider to be circling a transfer amid persistent rumours about the French team's demise at the end of 2026. The 32-year-old classics specialist is apparently drawing significant interest from Netcompany-Ineos for 2027, as reported by French cycling news site Velo-Club.
Turgis has raced for ProTeam TotalEnergies since moving over from Cofidis in 2019, back when the team was called Total Direct Energie. Over the years, he's collected seven wins and countless other memorable performances, especially in the classics: he's finished fourth and eighth at the Tour of Flanders, and his three Milan-Sanremo top-10 finishes included second in 2022. He's also a familiar face at the Tour de France where he took a terrific stage win in Troyes in 2024, battling over gravel roads in the day's breakaway.
A possible move to Netcompany-Ineos makes a fair amount of sense, not least for the British WorldTeam's links to TotalEnergies, but also as a reliable workhorse and possible replacement for outgoing classics riders like Ben Turner.
