Pedersen and Skjelmose head to Vuelta a España after successful Tour de France
Fresh of a successful Tour de France, where Mads Pedersen completed the set of Grand Tour points classifications, the Dane has revealed that the Vuelta a España is next on his schedule, where he'll be joined by Mattias Skjelmose who's just finished sixth overall in France.
Pedersen told TV2 that he and Skjelmose will lead the team, which will also include stage-hunter Thibau Nys who's spent much of 2026 recovering from a knee injury. Pedersen also told his national broadcaster that he's putting the fight for points classifications behind him.
"I am very proud that I can tick those jerseys off, but I will not chase points classifications anymore in the future," Pedersen told TV2. "Now there are other priorities for me in the Grand Tours."
The Vuelta starts in Monaco on 22nd August and culminates in Granada on 13th September.
