Are you kidding? Maëva Squiban doesn't joke around.

Her attack from the start was meant in jest, but the punchline – a second consecutive stage win – definitely landed.

The flag dropped on kilometre zero, and Maëva Squiban (UAE Team ADQ) attacked the peloton. From the front row. Her teammate, Dominika Włodarczyk, had no idea what was going on. "I had no idea that she attacked, basically," the Polish rider said after the stage. She even radioed Squiban to ask what was going on. "Maeva, what are you doing?" Włodarcyzk said, recalling the conversation. "And then Maeva said back, 'Yeah, it [the attack] is just for a joke.'"

Is it a good joke when the punchline is that Squiban went on to win her second Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift victory in as many days? Not bad given a little over two months ago a driver hit her with a car while she was out training.
