The Eagle of Durango flies west in October. 

Sepp Kuss will be back in his hometown of Durango, Colorado on October 19th to celebrate his recent Vuelta a España victory with a Q&A, signing, and bike parade throughout downtown. 

The Grand Tour victory parade is a time-honored tradition and Kuss’ will have a distinct Durango flavor. It will be hosted by his former junior program, Durango Devo, with appearances from former coaches and others who ushered him on the path toward Grand Tour glory.

The celebration will be open to the public and will take place at Buckley Park on Main Street. The schedule is as follows: 

In the event of bad weather, the party gets moved to the La Plata Fairground Exhibit Hall. 

Sepp Kuss wins the Vuelta a Espana.

“Durango Devo is proud of all our alumni, and we’re certainly proud of Sepp Kuss! He is a great example of what makes Durango Devo and the Durango cycling community special,” said Levi Kurlander, executive director of Durango Devo. “We are honored to host the Vuelta a España champion and Tour de France stage winner and celebrate his achievements in his hometown.” 

The celebration is supported by a number of local organizations including Durango Devo, Fort Lewis College Cycling, the Ironhorse Bicycle Classic, and Visit Durango.
