'I climbed my own pace': Seixas happy with stage 15 ride
Paul Seixas may no longer be in the white jersey of the best young rider at the Tour de France but the teenage French pro is keeping his perspective in his first Grand Tour.
"I climbed at my own pace," he said to France 2 after Sunday's stage 15 to Plateau de Solaison. Seixas was dropped by race leader Tadej Pogačar on the final climb and saw white jersey rival Isaac del Toro ride away from him, but refused to panic. "It was still a good climb, I’m still in the running for the overall, so that’s fine. Overall, I’m happy."
With Jonas Vingegaard's abandon countered by Del Toro leaping four spots in the general classification, Seixas remains one spot out of the podium placings. But he's just 25 seconds behind the young Mexican teammate of Pogačar, and will have chances in the coming days to vie for third place and the white jersey in Paris.
