Luca Guercilena to oversee cycling division at RCS
Longtime Lidl-Trek manager Luca Guercilena, who will leave the team after the upcoming Tour de France, already has a new job lined up. RCS Sport, which organizes the Giro d'Italia and most other major Italian races, announced on Wednesday that Guercilena "will take overall responsibility for the company’s cycling division, overseeing both the organization of its races and the management of all related logistical operations" starting on September 1.
"His expertise, combined with his in-depth knowledge of the international cycling landscape, will enable us to take a further leap forward both in terms of race organization and future development," said RCS CEO Paolo Bellino.
