Tadej Pogačar triumphed atop the Alpe d'Huez on Friday, winning stage 19 of the Tour de France. The UAE Team Emirates-XRG leader left the rest of the GC riders behind on the final climb and then tracked down the last survivors of the day's breakaway before dropping them too.
Early escapees Lenny Martinez (Bahrain Victorious) and Richard Carapaz (EF Education-EasyPost) were the next two riders over the line, while Remco Evenepoel was the first rider from the GC group to arrive at the finish, 2:29 down on Pogačar in sixth place on the day.
The victory brings Pogačar's career total of Tour de France stage wins to 26, nine short of Mark Cavendish's all-time record of 35.
