RADL GRVL 'paused'

RADL GRVL, one of Australia's highest profile gravel events, has paused operations and won't run in 2027. Organisers announced the decision on its Instagram account, describing it as a difficult call made after considerable thought but not ruling out a return. "While we're pressing pause for now, we sincerely hope this isn't the end of the story," their Instagram post said.

The Adelaide event was co-founded by South Australian pro Tiffany Cromwell and her partner, ten-time Formula 1 race winner Valtteri Bottas, alongside SBT GRVL owner Amy Charity. It formed the third leg of the international GRVL series, after the flagship SBT GRVL in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and FNLD GRVL in Bottas' hometown of Lahti, Finland.

Run during the Santos Tour Down Under, RADL GRVL sold out its 2024 pilot within weeks and doubled in size for 2025. Its 2026 edition, the biggest yet at 700 competitors, doubled as the inaugural Oceania Gravel Championships.
