Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe goes all in for Evenepoel and Lipowitz with Tour lineup – no room for fast men
Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe has confirmed its Tour de France lineup, with Remco Evenepoel and Florian Lipowitz joint leaders, and no room for fast men Danny van Poppel and Jordi Meeus, the latter a past winner on the Champs-Élysées.
"The Tour is no longer won by an exceptional rider alone, but by an exceptional team," said sports director Zak Dempster, in quotes included in the team's announcement. "We believe we are bringing one of the most complete squads to the start. With Remco and Florian, we have two leaders who have already proven they can stand on the Tour podium. Their different strengths give us tactical options that could prove decisive."
Along with the co-leaders, the German WorldTeam is also taking former yellow jersey-wearer Jai Hindley among the climbing domestiques, along with Maxim Van Gils and Mattia Cattaneo, with the experienced Jan Tratnik headlining the workhorses that include Tim van Dijke and Nico Denz.
