Reusser takes over race lead with Tour de Suisse time trial victory

Marlen Reusser (Movistar) took a commanding victory in the stage 4 individual time trial at the Tour de Suisse Women, putting 1 minute 5 seconds into overnight leader Elisa Longo Borghini (UAE Team ADQ) who started the day with a 55-second advantage over Movistar's Swiss leader. Reusser moves into the yellow jersey with one day to go, Longo Borghini now just 10 seconds down.

Zoe Bäckstedt (Canyon-SRAM) spent some time in the hot seat with a fantastic ride over the 23.7-kilometre race against the clock, finishing just 11 seconds slower than Reusser's eventual winning time. Third place Loes Adegeest (Lidl-Trek) was a fairly distant third 54 seconds down.

Cédrine Kerbaol's (EF Education-Oatly) 10th fastest time was enough to move the French rider up to third overall, a minute 20 seconds down on Reusser's new lead.
