Spotted: New Merida aero bike at the Tour de France

Merida brings the Reacto up to speed.

A new Merida Reacto has quietly surfaced under Bahrain Victorious at the Tour de France, marking the first visible update to Merida’s aero platform since 2019. There’s been no announcement on the new bike, but this new frame demonstrates several clear changes that bring the Reacto, presuming Merida maintain the naming, up to speed with modern aero trends.

The biggest change is up front. The head tube is now significantly deeper and much narrower through the mid-section between the headset bearings, creating a visibly pointed front end and reducing the frontal profile. Built into this new silhouette are flow-guiding veins – those surface ridges extending rearward from both upper and lower headset areas and tapering into the top tube and down tube junctions.
