Husband and wife duo Keegan Swenson and Sofía Gómez Villafañe compiled a dominant SBT GRVL for the Specialized Off-Road racing team on Sunday, winning the pro women's and men's events in Steamboat Springs.
For Gómez Villafañe, it was the Argentinian's second career victory at the iconic Colorado gravel race, shortly after her husband claimed his fourth SBT GRVL title with a solo move.

Men's race
Swenson attacked out of a group of four leaders around mile 80 (129 km) of the 108-mile (174 km) hilly course to finish five minutes ahead of Alexey Vermeulen (Enve Composites), Cobe Freeburn (Trek-Driftless), Henry Nelson (Lunchbox Racing), and Adam Roberge (Felt United).
Whether the race would happen at all was uncertain as wildfire smoke dropped air quality levels on Saturday afternoon. However, the smoke cleared overnight and the race was able to take place as planned.

Three men went up the gravel road in the early break, with Roberge joined by Ventum Racing’s John Borstelmann and Nathan Spratt. The group worked well together and pulled out a gap of up to four minutes, but the chase mounted as the race headed toward Wahooligan Pass, one of the sharper climbs on course.
