With 11 km to go, Mavi García set out on a doomed attack, at least that's how it looked when she made her move. Behind the Liv AlUla Jayco rider, the top contenders looked at each other, allowing García to take the best result of her career.
García crossed the line three seconds ahead of Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) and Kim Le Court (AG Insurance-Soudal), who finished second and third on the stage, respectively.
With the bonus seconds earned, Le Court moved into the yellow jersey, now on the same time as Marianne Vos (Visma-Lease a Bike) with a sprint stage to come on Monday.

How it happened
- From the start, it was clear multiple teams were keen to get off the front of the race, none more than PicNic PostNL. The Dutch team was actively trying to split from the race on Saturday as well, with Franziska Koch throwing down multiple times. The German champion was unsuccessful in the opening stage, but on Sunday, she did manage to get a gap with 103 km to go.
- Koch was joined by Movistar's Aude Biannic, who was born in Landerneau, only 30 minutes from the start of stage 2.
