Tour de France Femmes overall favorite Demi Vollering (FDJ-Suez) was one of several big names to go down in a major crash 3.7 km from the finish of stage 3 of the Tour de France Femmes. Given that the incident occurred within the final 5 km of the day, Vollering was given the same finishing time as stage winner Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime), but the 2023 Tour winner was clearly affected by the fall, with evaluations of her condition still ongoing as of Monday evening.

"She's completely shocked, she has pain at the knee, pain at the glute and pain at the back," FDJ team manager Stephen Delcourt said at the finish. "We need to wait because we never know if it's just the shock, if she needs time. We'll examine with the team doctor."
