Deignan becomes a British Cycling DS ahead of the 2028 Olympics
British Cycling has announced that former world road champ – and Olympic silver medalist – Lizzie Deignan will work as a sports director with the British national team through the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
"Bringing Lizzie into the team is a real coup," said Matt Brammeier, who heads up the road racing department for Team GB. "Having only recently retired from the bunch, she has so much insight and knowledge into both GB’s riders and the opposition. She also understands how we work as a team first-hand and can support and advise on how to get the best out of our riders on race day."
