Le Col enters administration
British cycling apparel brand Le Col has reportedly entered administration less than five months after being taken over by Austrian sports conglomerate Head Group.
Documents show that the company filed for administration on 23 June 2026, and Companies House records show both Le Col and its parent holding company dropped the Le Col name on 25 June, with the two entities now registered as Cadence (2026) Number 2 Limited and Cadence (2026) Number 1 Limited.
Renaming a business is common practice in the administration process and might indicate ownership change. However, files of the administration details have not been made public at the time of writing.
Puma Growth Partners, which had invested more than £15 million in Le Col since 2018 when it acquired the brand, sold the business to its current owner, Head Group, on 5 February 2026. Head said the brand would continue as a standalone business within its apparel division. Le Col founder Yanto Barker, who started the brand in 2009, had already left the company earlier, stepping down as a director in October 2025.
Le Col's recent years before the February 2026 acquisition had been tough, and it posted losses of more than £6 million in 2022, followed by £2.4 million in 2023 and £2.5 million in 2024.
