Silca overhauls Super Secret wax drip lube
Silca has launched Super Secret 2.0, a wholly new version of its popular drip wax lube.
The original version used a water-based carrier that could be reactivated in wet conditions, leading to poor durability. The new version claims to solve this through a new carrier fluid; meanwhile, a smaller wax particle and upgraded friction modifiers aim to further improve performance. Silca claims the longevity in wet conditions is now double from a single application (up to 350 km).
Silca also claim the new drip lube has a shorter break-in time and is now on par with its hot-melt wax for efficiency. The lube remains compatible with the American company’s other wax products, and is recommended as a top-up lube for hot-melt wax users.
The other notable change is in the quantity. The bottle is only available in a single 100 ml size, whereas the original was available in 60, 120, and 240 ml sizes. That bottle is priced at US$25 / €30 / £25 / AU$46. [Silca]
