Visma-Lease a Bike appears to have finalised its Tour lineup, with Hagenes in for Laporte
Visma-Lease a Bike has reportedly finalised its selection set to support Jonas Vingegaard at next month's Tour de France, notably bringing in Grand Tour debutant Per Strand Hagenes as a replacement for the injured Christophe Laporte, as reported by HLN.
The 22-year-old Norwegian fell victim to the illness that gouged its way through the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes peloton, but Hagenes has had a very good 2026 so far, finishing second to Mathieu van der Poel at the E3 Saxo Classic, then finally raising his arms in celebration at the Antwerp Port Epic last month. As a one-for-one switch with punchy Frenchman Laporte, Hagenes' selection makes sense, although it might have been expected that another climber – like Ben Tulett – would sooner make the cut after Edoardo Affini appeared to fill the seat emptied by Simon Yates early this season.
The team itself has yet to provide any updates on its own selection, which has a new question mark over it since the news of Wout van Aert's infected elbow.
Visma-Lease a Bike's provisional Tour lineup:
- Jonas Vingegaard
- Wout van Aert
- Bruno Armirail
- Victor Campenaerts
- Matteo Jorgenson
- Sepp Kuss
- Edoardo Affini
- Per Strand Hagenes
