Mads Pedersen sprinted to victory out of the breakaway on stage 4 of the Tour de France after a show of force form Lidl-Trek, which put multiple riders into the move of the day.
Pedersen and teammates Mathias Vacek and Quinn Simmons joined a select group of 10 that formed from the larger breakaway group going over the final climb of the stage, and Pedersen won the subsequent sprint in Foix with ease to claim his third career Tour stage win. Simmons took runner-up honors on the day with Raúl García Pierna (Movistar) in third.
Fellow escapee Torstein Træen (Uno-X Mobility) finished on the same time as the Lidl-Trek one-two, and with the peloton nearly 13 minutes back, Træen moved into the race leader's jersey.
