Rad Power Bikes has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the Eastern District of Washington. The filing does not necessarily mean Rad Power is shutting down altogether, but rather it is a step that allows it to continue operating while it tries to secure a more sustainable future.

Rad said it is currently in the process of completing a sale of the company in the next 45-60 days, which means Rad could continue under new ownership in 2026. Speaking to Bicycle Retail and Industry News (BRAIN), the company said its day-to-day operations will continue while a buyer is finalised and that its goal is to keep the brand intact and preserve relationships with riders, vendors, and retailers.
