Restaurant on iconic Paris-Roubaix sector catches fire
Fans of the Spring Classics know one indelible scene from Paris-Roubaix: the stout brick building at the exit of the pivotal Carrefour de l'Arbre. The Restaurant de l'Arbre caught fire Monday evening, according to a brief report in La Voix du Nord.
The restaurant was closed at the time and there were no reports of injuries, but a short video posted by the newspaper showed copious black smoke and what appears to be significant damage to the roof. The owners later posted on Facebook to express their gratitude for the firefighters' response and the outpouring of support.
