Threaded #38: A complete list of all the new tools covered

Threaded #38: A complete list of all the new tools covered

Looking for thoughts on tools? Here’s a complete list of what’s been covered to date.

I love New Tools Day. Getting a new tool continues to bring me excitement, and it's a joy I seek to share with others. Covering a bunch of shiny new things is not about getting you to buy more things (I mean, that’s great, but I get nothing if you do), but rather about sharing the knowledge that comes with tool discovery, where you may learn about a mechanical task you didn’t realise was possible, or a tool that makes a common task simpler, more efficient, or more precise.

It’s equally about explaining how these new tools may compare to existing competitors and where your money is best spent. If it’s a wholly original creation that solves a genuine problem, then you can expect me to rave about it. If it’s a copy of someone else’s genius that fails to meet the standard of the original, you can bet I’ll call this out.

So with all that said, I wanted to put together a complete index of all the new tools I’ve covered on Escape Collective over the past couple of years. People often ask me whether I’ve covered a certain tool before – this list will help you find a tool review that may be hidden across one of 20 articles.

We’ll look to make this list something you can filter by category in the future, but for now, I’ll wind it back to 1998 with an alphabetical list of hyperlinks. Sorry – I know this edition of Threaded is drier than a stuck seatpost, but hopefully you bookmark it for future reference.

If you like tools, then take a browse and see if anything piques your interest. At the very least, I suspect you'll spot a brand or two you've never heard of.

The Threaded series is only made possible through the support of Escape Collective members. There are no ads, affiliate links, or weird kickbacks at play here, just pure independent and member-funded media.

As for me, I've had a passion for bicycling repair spanning over two decades, and it wasn't long into that journey that I became obsessed with the related tooling. It's now been a decade since I first started professionally reviewing tools intended for bicycle repair (and often covering tools that weren't originally designed for bicycles, but have proven to be wonderful).

If you survive through or just enjoy bicycle repair, then the wholly original Threaded series is sure to provide plenty of value.
